Our Environmental and Sustainability Credentials
- As a responsible and environmentally committed business Pegasus aim to deliver to all our clients services, which as far as possible, meet the highest environmental standards. Our internal policies demand that anything we remove from our clients’ projects is dealt with in the most environmentally responsible way possible. As a result, our clients can be confident that Pegasus have all the elements in place in-house to ensure that the absolute minimum of their waste goes to landfill. This helps meet the ever more ambitious sustainability targets which every responsible company now has in place.
- The whole Pegasus business is underpinned by our state-of-the-art Wash Plant through which all the excess materials generated from our Utility and Construction projects are passed for processing. Once processed the various materials, which in the past would have been sent to landfill, emerge as a wide range of recycled aggregate products. These materials which fully comply to the “Wrap Quality Protocols” set out by the Environment Agency cease to be waste and can be used for a range of construction and utility purposes, including in the volumetric mixed concrete products we supply across the region.
- Pegasus also have a large Skip Hire section which serves both construction and household clients all waste which comes via that route is rigorously sorted to enable efficient recycling and reuse. Again our aim is to ensure that the absolute minimum amount of waste possible ends in landfill.
- Through continual investment in R&D and introduction of innovation Pegasus strive to reduce our internal carbon footprint but to also assist our clients in reducing theirs. Pegasus unsurprisingly operates a large fleet of commercial vehicles most of which are no more than 3 years old. All our fleet vehicles have state of the art technology to allow performance and driving habits to be monitored, measured and improved. Reducing fuel consumption and emissions is our priority.
